What to expect & the wisdom of Peanuts

I plan to fill this blog with lots of different things... things I make, tutorials, great craft and sewing tips and ideas, home decorating, recipes, printables, Etsy finds, favorite places, vintage items, motherhood issues/stories, home renovations. I could go on, but I'll stop there. You get the idea. In addition, something near and dear to my heart is ensuring my daughters grow up believing in themselves and not wasting as much time as I did worrying about how they look/whether or not they fit in. I had a really hard time with this growing up, and I don’t want them to have to experience what I did. I know I can’t completely avoid it, but I would like to figure out ways to make adolescence a better experience for them than it was for me. I want to share and explore ideas on this topic from time to time because I know there are other people who can relate.

In order to make this possible, I am making no promises on posting frequency. I’m shooting for twice a week to start. It may be more often some weeks and less often others. I don’t want this blog to feel like a chore or take away from the time I spend with my children… I want it to be fun and flexible. But I also know how disappointed I get when I check in on a favorite blogger and they haven’t posted in a few days.

Ok, I'm done with all the blog startup talk. Look for some craftiness in a post later this week! For now, here's a little more about me...

I am a Peanuts fanatic. There is something about the wisdom of Charlie Brown and his friends that makes everything seem so simple and good in the world. By fanatic, I don’t mean that I have Snoopy bed sheets or wear character t-shirts. I have a nice collection of new and vintage books that takes up one shelf on my bookcase and still manages to look grown-up and decorative.

Do I occasionally receive a Peanuts item as a gift that does not fit in with this decorating concept?

You bet. But that’s what the basement is for.

My favorite holiday television special is A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. If all we needed were jellybeans, toast, popcorn, and pretzels for a fantastic holiday celebration, the world would be a better place.
