Birthday Countdown Frame

About a month ago I saw the most adorable project over at Lemon Tree Creations... a birthday countdown frame. I immediately knew I had to make one for my girls. Within minutes of seeing it I was figuring out what materials I had in my stash and what I would need to buy. I finally got around to making it last weekend, and I absolutely love the way it turned out...

Isn't it adorable?!? The little vintage flashcards are from Pretty Little Studio. There are 31 cards, and they are so unbelievably cute. The number 24 card is my favorite.

I painted a plain white 5x7" frame using the same technique and colors I used to transform my cheese dome. I pulled the label holder off of the old post office cubbies that I bought at a yard sale last fall...

My oldest is so excited about this. She keeps clipping different cards in the mini clothespin to try it out. Her birthday isn't until June, though, so she's going to have to wait a little bit.
