I love this version that KJ from let's go fly a kite made. The denim contrast was a perfect choice. She even made fabric-covered buttons.
Marci Girl Designs made two versions in a tunic length. Her muslin (left) is adorable. Her second version (right) is so bright and fun. She skipped the wide neckline on this version. It's interesting how a small change can make such a big difference.
Leah from Sew Spoiled gets the award for bravery because she used a plaid! If you aren't familiar with sewing, plaid can be very difficult to work with because you need to make sure that the lines of the fabric match up when you sew each piece together. Her dress is fantastic!
Thanks to everyone who sewed along. I know there are people still working on their dresses (and several who cut everything out and never got around to sewing it togther :) When you finish, please add some pictures to the Flickr pool... we would love to see them!
By the way, have you entered my birthday week giveaway yet? It ends tomorrow, May 27th at 11:59pm (EST).

Thanks so much for including my two tops! The sew along was so helpful and gave me that little kick I needed to get them done! Thanks! I am actually going to be wearing the pink floral one today!
These look so great. What a nice feeling that must be to know people sewed along with you guys, and to have such pretty results to boot!
Thanks again, Gwen for being my partner in the Sew-Along. It was so fun working with you. You were featured, too! :)

Everyone's dresses/tunics turned out great! So fun to see all the fabric choices! I'm loving that plaid, but would not have been that brave- Kudos to Leah!

What great projects. I had a dress like the plaid one at some point in time (when I was younger)but it was a color block theme. I did however, make a plaid coat dress with an inset of the plaid on the bias. It turned out great but I didn't realize at the time what a project it would be. It was one of my favorite dresses. Later I found myself sewing lots of plaid...especially plaid wool shirts for the men in my life and suits for me. It is rewarding once you get the hang of matching the plaids and your garment stands out as much more polished than some mis-matched plaid findings at retail.
Yes, it is great to see that people did join you. I just love Leah's version. Very sixties.
Isn't it is so amazing to see how everyone's garments came together? You and Chris worked so hard in putting this together and making it such a positive experience - I can't believe how well you coordinated all of your posts. You make a wonderful team! I thought you would be interested that there is a photo of Liesel at the Quilt Market in her Portfolio dress in this post!

Making tops out of the pattern is an ingenious idea..they look fab!
This is a VERY belated comment, but I wanted to say that I came late to the party (as in June 24, 2012 or so),but I appreciated the whole sew-along a great deal! I've sewn for a long time, but I've never been very successful with anything . . . how shall I put it? demanding, maybe. Essentially, I can make an elastic-waisted a-line skirt with pockets, or pj pants, but a dress???? Not so much--until now, thanks to the great pattern and Chris and your incredibly helpful and detailed posts. I really felt like I was in a class, not figuring stuff out all by myself. THANK YOU!
