They're vintage Fisher-Price Little People, of course. There's something about these iconic little figures that puts a smile on my face every time I see them. Fisher-Price manufactured Little People in this form from the 1960s through the 1980s. My girls love playing with the new Little People, but they just aren't the same. They set up all of their Little People one day last week, so you can thank them for this week's theme :) Here are this week's pins...
This fabric is awesome! I love that you can just look at these simple shapes and know
exactly what they represent.
I don't think I could ever bite into one of these. They are absolutely perfect. Make sure you check out the link to see close-ups of each hand-cut cookie.

I am absolutely in love with these. It doesn't get much cuter than this.
I have lots of fond memories of setting up an entire town of Little People houses and buildings. The set-up was my favorite part. By the time my brother and sister and I got everything set up, we didn't feel like actually playing with the village anymore :) Were you a Little People fan? Do your children/grandchildren play with Little People?

i LOVE vintage little people!! I want to start collecting them for the girls' to play with or to display in their room. And you're right the new ones just aren't the same!
ReplyDeleteThese were my favorite!! I love the little people. I was very sad when they made them fat plastic little people. I had the old wooden little people. Somehow to me they were different. I love how many different ones they made, I always think there is a quilt of circles out there with different little people faces and hats and such.. I just am too new, and not talented enough.. but OOH so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh I remember those "little people" ! I spent every night after my children were in bed counting them and making sure to place the correct people back into the correct toy. If the bus had 8 people it had to be the exact ones, 2 blond girls, the red boy etc etc. etc. My husband and I were fanatical about that. The "house" had to have the correct mom, dad, kids and dog. Did it really make a difference....of course not....but I wanted the F.P. "little people" to look just like they did when the toy was brand new. My sister and 6 kids came once to visit and when we counted all the l.p.'s one was missing. I made my sister go through her suitcases to find that little guy.....we never did find him. Did I say we were fanatical! Once I visited my brother and all his little people were in the big F.P. boat. I mean it looked like a rescue boat from Cuba or somewhere else. I envied how relaxed my brother and sister in law could be and they just didn't care where those "little people" ended up. Sorry for the long post.....but you really brought me memory lane. Thanks for the memories.

ReplyDeleteMy mother kept a lot of toys from our childhood...including my little people house and most of its accessories. My children have LOVED to play with it.
ReplyDeleteOh they were the best! The new ones aren't a patch on these!! Great picture
ReplyDeleteI love it! The old wooden ones are my favorite...and I am still on the lookout for the little girl at the sewing machine for my sewing room...she is just too cute.
ReplyDeleteOh, so cute!! I love Little People, and wish I still had my old toys to share with my kids!! but I make sure we have plenty of new sets :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow...talk about a blast from the past! I had the Little People Village and the Little People Hospital! They were by far some of my favourite toys!
ReplyDeleteOh how I loved the little people!! I want to find some of these for my kids!!
ReplyDeleteThis takes me back! Love the cookies especially. I always wondered what the grumpy kid was always so upset. I had a lot of fun imagining scenarios... If I found a set of these in a thrift store I'd snap it up in an instant!
ReplyDeleteMy Mother in law gave me a box of misc little people that my husband had from the 80s and boy did those bring back memories. My daughter just loves them too. Recently I scored the barn and the family house at the thrift. Love the pics of the cookies too!
ReplyDeleteI love little people the old ones and the new ones. My youngest loves playing with them too- she'll spend hours with them.

What a great theme! We still have a few people from my husband's collection. The girls love them. I also love your sewing closet graphic with the mama at the machine.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have them but I remember my cousins having them and playing with them when we visited. Your round-up is really cool. I didn't realize people were latching on to them as inspiration. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI also love the little people and I even still have the school house, a castle, a Holiday Inn!! McDonald's and many more pieces of my collection. I am like everyone else and I will always love them. The vintage ones are the best. Of course my young daugther loves her 'new' ones and I have those too. I kept her favorites for her to keep. --Quiltpecan
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, these vintage Little People bring a lot of money on eBay!! I could kick myself for getting rid of the ones my kids had!
